In September 2009, The Victory Services Club, a Tri-Service Club for serving & retired members of the Armed Forces, was awarded the ‘Individual Unit Award’, and ‘Innovation in Retention & Talent Management Award’ at the ‘Caterer and Hotelkeeper Best Places to Work in Hospitality Awards’. The club, in conjunction with Straight A Training have achieved these presitgious awards by demonstrating their commitment to the training, development and retention of its staff.

Victory Services Club wins Best Places To Work In Hospitality… Again!
The Victory Services Club has won two categories in the latest ‘Caterer and Hotelkeeper Best Places to Work in Hospitality Awards’
The Victory Services Club, a Tri-Service Club for serving & retired members of the Armed Forces, located at the heart of London’s West End, has won two categories in the 2009 ‘Caterer and Hotelkeeper Best Places to Work in Hospitality’ Awards. The Club was the winner of not only the ‘Individual Unit Award’, for which they were Highly Commended in both 2006 & 2008, but also the ‘Innovation in Retention & Talent Management Award’. The ‘Caterer and Hotelkeeper Best Places to Work in Hospitality Awards’ was created in 2006 and celebrates outstanding employment practice in the hospitality sector. The latest ceremony was held n September 14th at One White Hall Place in London.
The Victory Services Club has consistently demonstrated its commitment to the training, development and retention of its people having won a whole raft of awards including ‘Services Club of the Year*’ in 2004 & 2005; ‘Good Employer’ Awards from both the Governments Hospitality Skills Sector Council (UKSP) and from Peninsula Business Consultants. They are also Business Partners for Springboard UK promoting the Hospitality Industry for young people, Champions for the new Hospitality Diplomas being run out in Schools & Colleges as well as being a Centre for Training Excellence. The VSC is also the first London venue to achieve the Meetings Industry Association’s (MIA) ‘Gold’ standard for ‘Accredited in Meetings’ – MIA’s Quality Accreditation benchmark, and holds the highest Hotel & Club Sector scores for ‘Hospitality Assured’ – the leading hospitality industry quality accreditation.
Staff benefits include a ’buddy’ scheme for new employees; a range of staff social events; employee of the month nominations and shining star awards to recognize exceptional customer service and outstanding achievement. These results were confirmed through the Club’s latest annual staff survey which showed a 97% staff satisfaction ratio, and staff turnover has decreased from 120% in 2004 to an outstanding 14% in 2009.
